Turmeric Smoothie – So Tasty You Won’t Believe It Has One of the Most Powerful Antioxidants in the World

How would you like to start your day with an antioxidant rich smoothie? This turmeric smoothie is not only delicious, but really packs a punch when it comes to its nutritional and medicinal benefits.

Turmeric on its own is somewhat bitter, but in this smoothie, you will never guess that.

Why turmeric?

Turmeric or more specifically, the curcumin which is a derivative of turmeric and  gives the spice its bright yellow color is anti-inflammatory. It has anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal elements. There is also more and more support for its anti-carcinogenic properties. At the same time, it is known to reduce cholesterol and helps with fat metabolization.

Personally, I find its anti-inflammatory properties its biggest advantage, as inflammation is a precursor in almost all lifestyle diseases.

Here is the turmeric smoothie recipe with thanks to PreventDisease.com.
