Avocados are one of Dr. Mercola’s most recommended foods, and for good reason. They are loaded with healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients. They are packed with fiber, vitamins B5, B6, C and K and folate and potassium. It is categorized as a fruit, but is very low in fructose. Its thick skin means the fruit itself is protected from most pesticides.
I love to use avocados in smoothies, because it gives smoothies a creamy taste and makes a snack into a substantial meal. The fat from 1/2 an avo can keep me satiated for hours.
