Healthy Green Apple Smoothie for Saint Patrick’s Day
Drink this delicious, refreshing and healthy green apple smoothie if you want to start Saint Patrick’s Day on a healthy green note.
The ingredients for this yummy smoothie are:
1 cup of freshly juiced apple juice
1/2 cup of chopped spinach
1/3 cup of chopped collard greens
Juice of 1 lemon

Blend all the ingredients well and drink immediately.
Want a more substantial breakfast then add protein to this yummy drink. My favorite protein to add to a green smoothie is chia seeds. I usually soak them overnight, but when I don’t have time I soak them for at least 30 minutes. Alternatively add a small handful of soaked nuts or seeds. I like to use a tablespoon of mixed seeds and a few nuts, like macadamia nuts that are high in protein and good fats.
