Tips

To make sure you have strongly defined layers and that the layers do not blend into each other, keep your glass in the fridge whilst you make the next layer.

I like to experiment with my smoothies. To see more of my ideas on how I adapt these smoothies, you will find my ideas below the video on the previous page.

Experiment

When you watch the video, you will see that Popsugar Food who made the video add honey to each layer. I don’t do that because I believe these fruits are sweet enough as is.

They also use 2% Greek yogurt. As you may know, I prefer full cream plain Greek yogurt as the “skim” products often have added sugar and our bodies need more fat not sugar.

I also like to experiment with other ingredients, so if this is too much yogurt for you, replace the yogurt with a 1/4 cup of almond milk. The green layer doesn’t need the yogurt at all. The avocado is already thick and delicious. Just add a little more water in the green layer and leave the yogurt out.

Also if you don’t want so much banana in the smoothie, both the green and orange layers are delicious and rich even without the banana.
